PrayerZoneAmerica was launched in Grand Rapids, Michigan in September 2000 to provide a prayer effort to support a city-wide event called "Grand Rapids 2000". Over 2,500 families and individuals display the prayerzone sign in their office, outside their homes, and in their car. Grand Rapids 2000 featured speaker Billy Schneider who spoke to 25,000 students in 38 school assemblies, 12 Youth Rallies attended by 2,500 students, and several hundred made confessions of faith.
Prayer Zone continues a prayer strategy directed to our public schools. PrayerZoneMembers, those who pray for schools, are encouraged to display the PrayerZone symbol, pray for the school daily, and support events that reach students with a message to make positive choices.
Soon, Youth Advocates Resource will launch as a division of PrayerZoneAmerica that offers assembly and event speakers, performers, bands, and resources to reach students on campus. Prayer Zone materials, coupled with a fund raising strategy, will be available to finance events.
John Hulett, Director of PrayerZoneAmerica has been in youth related ministries since 1999 and has scheduled over 300 school assemblies in Grand Rapids and many other parts of America. He remains committed to the fact that youth are the hope for the future and equipping them with the power of positive choice will affect their life for the better.
John Hulett with ACTION Wyoming is launching the 5th assembly tour in Wyoming and surrounding areas. Nov 2 - 6, 2009, a national program "The Seven Tour" will visit as many as 15 schools with national speaker Reggie Dabbs. Each student will be invited to one of 4 evangelist events.
This 50 minute assembly will feature a multimedia high energy program including two large video screens, dancers, drama and awesome music. This program will reach as many as 7,000 students in 5 days.
JR Pittman from his deep background of working with high school & college youth has launched a mentoring program that is different. This program challenges the students to set goals, decide life changes, and find a person to help with that goal.
The IGNITE guide is used by each student as a guide and accountability piece with their mentor. INGITE has been tested in public school assembly settings with support from the local community, who are challenged when a student comes them to be their mentor.
IGNITE is now a program that is used in a local school system called FRESHMAN FOCUS, a year long project. Incoming high school freshman hear JR Pittman present the IGNITE program to them as a guide for the next four years. He then meets with the freshman on a monthly basis including a progress check and an accountability process with their junior and senior student mentors.
